Bassem Samra was born on October 16, 1964 in Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt.

He graduated from the Faculty of Education and worked as a teacher of industrial drawing for the secondary stage for a short period before heading to acting, where he began his artistic career by participating in the short film “Cairo Shining with Its People” directed by Youssef Chahine, and after that the movie “Mercedes” and the movie “Boys and Girls” directed by Yousry Nasr
